in order to relate to my art, one often needs to look inward, curl up, and explore those parts of themselves or the world that are often deemed unsightly. it is about surrendering to yourself: my photographs, installations, poems, or knitting and embroidery works express a longing for an elusive familiarity, a sense of security that emerges from within. like a child hiding under the covers, yet diving headfirst into the tumultuous waves of adulthood, mental healing, and self-discovery. it underscores the fact that we all struggle with aspects of ourselves every day, but voicing these struggles—sometimes softly, sometimes loudly, sometimes in beauty, sometimes in chaos—can often make them more manageable.
